6 adults going to WDW 12/12- 12/18. Would Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise work for us or is it geared toward kids? We are all kids at heart if that helps? If so, when can we reserve, cancellation policY?

Hi Catherine! The Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise has become a popular event at Walt Disney World. It is definitely geared toward the children but of course that doesn't mean you can't go and enjoy it as an adult. The kids will get the attention from the "pirates" and enjoy some of the special surprises.

Reserving this cruise is suggested by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. It can vary as to when they will accept reservations so call as soon as you know the date you wish to book and see if they have it opened up to fill the spots. The price for adults is $57.50 and there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Now, may I suggest an alternative for your group?  My choice for six adults would be to book a fireworks cruise on a pontoon boat that can depart from any of the marinas on Bay Lake or Seven Seas Lagoon. That means all five resorts including Fort Wilderness have these cruises available each night. There is one price for the boat that comes with a driver and snacks and sodas. You can add special drinks or food such as champagne and strawberries or a custom cake if you choose. You order through the private room dining number from the resort you have booked the boat through. Generally you will cruise the waters for about 30-40 minutes and then anchor in front of the Magic Kingdom to watch the evening fireworks show. They will have the music piped in so you don't miss a thing. If you are lucky you can even stop and watch the Electric Water Pageant before heading back to the dock.

The price of a boat would be just about equal to the cost for six adults on the Pirates and Pals cruise. It is certainly your choice as to how you want to set sail for the fireworks. Many adults enjoy that time of peace and quiet for themselves but you do give up some character meet and greets with your favorite pirates and pals! I know you will have fun no matter what you decide!
