We're (2 adults) going to South Carolina the end of April, dates to be determined this week. Is the first week of May too late to go to Disney World - stay in a resort hotel, go to Star Wars & Animal Kingdom (Avatar) & other fun stuff?

Hi, Daryle! A trek from South Carolina to Mickey and Minnie's home in Florida sounds like a great spring adventure! With the timing of your visit, you're asking a great question!

While it's certainly not too late to book a Disney Resort Hotel and ticket package, it might be too late to book some of the Star Wars activities that you were hoping to do during your visit. I just checked the Disney Park Pass reservation calendar and I see that Disney's Hollywood Studios, home to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, is currently booked during your planned visit for the first week of May. The Dark Side has clearly won on this one. However, Disney's Animal Kingdom currently does have park availability every day during the first week of May except for Monday, May 3rd. This means that you would still get to enjoy a ride on the back of a banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage! As well as experiencing so many other great attractions!

Daryle, in addition to Disney's Animal Kingdom, I see that Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT currently also have availability most days during the first week of May! Guests can check the Disney Park Pass reservation calendar prior to purchasing tickets! This calendar will show you all of the parks that are currently available and unavailable.

Don't forget that you can also enjoy great shopping and dining at Disney Springs! Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is also a great way to spend a Disney-day! Neither of these locations currently require a reservation. Daryle, it sounds to me like there is plenty of fun to be enjoyed during the first week of May!
