Kids with Woody at Disney' Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

Jason from MD Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

We are 4 adults, 3 kids (4-5 yo), and two active elders. There were no FP+ for Slinky Dog and crowds will be high for our March trip. Is SDD rope drop feasible for our large, diverse party? How early should we get to HS? Sign up for Jedi before SDD? Thanks

    Howdy, Partner!
Jason, we're so happy that you've stopped by to visit with us!

During my family's recent visit to Toy Story Land, we were able to complete all of the attractions (Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania) by 9:45am, even though the park technically opened at 9am.

Here's my suggestion. This has been the theme parks strategy lately and hopefully it will be the same during your visit.
Arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios about an hour before the park opens. Cast Members will begin letting guests into the park about 30 minutes before it officially opens. Guests will then be led into the theme park by Cast Members. Walk to the far right of the crowd to ensure that you walk in the correct direction towards Toy Story Land. Once in Toy Story Land, stay to the right close to the colorful railing as the Slinky Dog Dash line with automatically begin to form. Your wait time from there will be fairly short. We waited no more than 30 minutes to ride this attraction.
After you have enjoyed a ride through Andy's backyard, head over to the sign up for Jedi Training, by then it will be just a little after the park officially opens.

I would suggest to have the kids in a stroller or carry them if you don't have one. The crowds may be a little tough on the way to Slinky Dog Dash for them to navigate quickly and safely.

Even if your group gets separated during the dash to Slinky Dog, just give everyone this game plan. Eventually, you'll all end up in the same area. You may not be able to enjoy the ride at the same time, but everyone will still be able to experience it that morning. Also, keep checking for FastPasses. You may get a little pixie dust!

Have a toy-reffic time, Jason! Stop by and see us again if you have more questions!
