6 adults and 3 kids staying at POR in the Royal Guest rooms. My niece has cerebral palsy but can walk with the help of canes. Is there a room location closer to the main building that we should try to request? Do we need river view or water view rooms?

    Hi DAnn!

Congratulations on your upcoming stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. You'll just LOVE the beautiful, new Royal Guest Rooms. They're full of so many wonderful little surprises and so beautifully appointed!

I'd definitely recommend that you call in and have a room request added as a note to your reservation. Call (407) 939-7675 and have your resort reservation number handy at the time of your call. Request that the Cast Member add a note to your reservation requesting that you be in a the Oak building, in the wing closest to the footbridge, on the ground floor. I think this will be the very best location for you to enjoy these rooms and yet have a slightly shorter walk to the main resort areas such as dining and shopping.

Upon arrival for check in, mention your request again to the Cast Member and they'll double check the file and advise you if your request was able to be accommodated. A close, second best option would also be to be in the Parterre building in the stand-alone wing closest to the quiet pool and footbridge.

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World DAnn!
