we (4 adults, 4 kids 18,16,14, & 7) are planning a trip to DW this year mid to late Oct or early Dec. What is the best time to visit and which hotel would you recommend? What is the orleans riverside like? is the deluxe meal plan worth the money? th

If you are wanting to see the Christmas lights and attending the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.  It is a fabulous time of year to visit.  October is a quieter time to visit.  Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a great deal of fun as well.  Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is September 26th through November 9th 2008.  This is fabulous if you are a wine connoisseur.  The festival is fascinating place to learn about the different foods from different countries.  There is an opportunity to sample many different types and flavors of wine.

Port Orleans Riverside is quiet and quaint.  It has a feel of an old southern plantation.

I would actually recommend the Boardwalk Inn.  It has a fantastic night life for all ages.  It will keep everyone happy.  I like the Boardwalk because there are fewer bus rides.  I can walk to Epcot and if I want to walk about a mile to Hollywood Studios.  I can do that as well.  I also can take the Friendship Boat to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  You can then catch the Monorail to Magic Kingdom from Epcot.

If you are planning on several table service meals.  It is definitely worth the money.  I always look at menus and check out various prices before I arrive.  I know that prices change and that things don't always stay the same.  I use allearsnet.com to research the various restaurants.  Good Luck!! I hope you have a fabulous trip!! Heather M.
