    We are 6 adults (foodie group), 1 child (3yo) travelling to WDW for first time. Staying in AKL. Want a neat dinner locale for our first night. We dont have park passes since we dont arrive until 4pm. Preferably not in AKL, save that for a tired night!

    I have a few suggestions for your "maiden meal" at Disney.  If you'd like to get in the "Disney spirit" without entering a park, I'd recommend a trip to Downtown Disney on your first night.  There are many wonderful dining options and some of the best shopping at Disney located Downtown.  Among our favorites is Fulton's Crab House.  This famous restaurant features seafood so fresh, that the packaging slips from the deliveries from Alaska are in the entrance way as you enter. The King Crab Legs are absolutely amazing, and the Filet Mignon is delicious.  They also boast a great Bloody Mary if you are interested, along with an impressive wine list.   We also love Wolfgang Puck's Restaurant and Portobello (formerly, Portobello Yacht Club) for Italian Food.  After you eat, you can have dessert at Ghiradelli Chocolate, and then head over to a few of your favorite shops.  The World of Disney is the largest, and carries everything and anything you could want to bring home to remember your trip!
