Hi April,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!
While, historically, Guests of all ages were welcome (and even encouraged) to attend
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in costumes, due to recent changes to the
Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules, Guests over the age of 14 are no longer allowed to wear costumes in the Theme Parks. From what I understand, as of right now, this rule will also apply during Special Events, such as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I keep hoping that this rule will get relaxed somewhat in order to allow adults to get dressed up too, so keep checking the
Disney Parks Blog for more information, especially once the tickets go on sale.
Even if full costumes are no longer permitted, "Disneybounding" might be a great alternative for you and your family. What this means is creating an outfit that is a "nod" to your favourite Disney Characters or even attractions (like the
Haunted Mansion, for a spooky example). A quick Google search should help inspire you to plan out a costume that will work with the new Park Rules... and that, let's face it, might be a whole lot more comfortable than touring Magic Kingdom Park in a costume all night long!
Please don't hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
