5 adults and 3 children heading to Disney in early December 2023. I am looking for "must do" and "must see" things during this magical time. Two in our party have never been to Disney. Suggestions?

    Hello Tammy!

I'm excited to be the one answering this question. I just completed a Walt Disney World late December trip with four adults and four kids with a first-timer in the mix. You are right, it's a magical time. So many things make the Holidays at Walt Disney World wonderful.

My "Must-Dos" and "Must-Sees" from my personal experience and still on my wish list are as follows:

    • Take a picture in front of the Magic Kingdom Park Christmas Tree! We did this right at the Park Opening with a very short wait. I always recommend arriving at the Parks at least 45 minutes before posted opening!
    • Mickey's Once Upon a Time Christmastime Parade is the best parade I've ever seen. So many rare characters, dancing soldiers, and Cinderella in her carriage! We went during the holiday break, which ended up having this Parade during the day, but outside of this week, it is regularly only seen during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
    • Of course, my next "must-do" is to secure a ticket to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! This will be the only way to see the amazing parade, and Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show in early December! There are also special Party only treats and character meet-and-greets!
    • Resort hopping to see all of the seasonal decorations is a must-do! I loved Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa's huge gingerbread house which smells and looks delicious. Cast Members inside can sell you treats such as a gingerbread roof shingle! We booked a lunch to escape the Parks at the Grand Floridian Cafe and strolled over to examine the detailed gingerbread house.
    • Fellow planDisney panelist Amy A. had a chance to visit the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays-Candlelight Processional! She highly recommends the Dining Package which secures you a seat for the event while making sure you have a lovely meal. Don't miss out on the Holiday Kitchen food booths and decorations while here!
    • My favorite tip is to visit the Disney Parks Blog before your trip to see the latest Disney Eats Food Guide! My family now relies on me to find the best snacks that we all can share.
I have run out of space and I hope I helped! Come back and I will keep going! Have a wonderful time and take me with you!

Meet the Panelist: Nimmy, New York

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
