Hiya Catherine!
Welcome to planDisney! Transportation around the Walt Disney World Resort with little ones and those who need accessible services can seem intimidating. Don't fret, Catherine, you have options!
The
Disney Minnie Van service now has an accessible Minnie Van which can accommodate 2 spaces for people on mobility devices where the guest remains on their device, and additional seating for 5 people. That's enough space for 7 people! However, with the accessible Minnie Van, there is only one complimentary car seat which will take the seat of one of the 5 people. I suggest bringing a portable booster seat for the child who needs it as it is the lightest car seat option. Consider storing that booster in
Locker Rentals when in the Park so you don't have to carry it all day when exploring. You can request an accessible Disney Minnie Van via the Lyft app. Make sure you have accessible vehicles selected and understand that the wait time could be longer during busier periods. There are a limited number of these accessible Minnie Vans so it could take some time to get to you.
Another very good option is to use
complimentary Disney Resort Transportation. The bus, monorail,
Disney Skyliner and most water transportation have wheelchair/ECV accessible solutions. You will not need to have a car seat or booster for these travel options and unlike the Disney Minnie Van, you will not have to pay anything!
I hope this helps and you have a great time!
Happy Planning!
