Hi there, Susan!
Thank you for sailing to planDisney with your question. With six adults and one child, I can understand wanting some space!
Stateroom configurations depend on the ship. I recommend booking a
connecting stateroom if they are available on your preferred sailing. Connecting staterooms are available on all Disney Cruise Line ships, although the newer ships have more options. I like connecting staterooms because you can open the connecting door when you want to share space and close it for bedtime when you need to limit distractions (especially when trying to put kids to bed).
You can book a connecting stateroom once you have selected your preferred itinerary on the Disney Cruise Line website. Choose your type of stateroom, which will then take you to a deck plan for stateroom selection. Connecting staterooms can be located in the deck plans by looking for a broken line on a wall shared between two staterooms. This demonstrates that an interior door connects the two staterooms. Go through the process of selecting that stateroom and then you can start the process again to book the other stateroom. Make sure both staterooms are available before reserving the first one! You can reserve up to four staterooms at one time.
Concierge staterooms on some ships also have 1-bedroom, 1-story, and even 2-story options that can
accommodate a larger number of Guests. I dream about staying in the Concierge 2-Story Royal Suite with Verandah on the
Disney Wish! This extravagant suite includes 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living area, a dining room, and more. It is incredible! Concierge Guests can visit the Concierge Lounge, where they can enjoy complimentary food and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as cocktails during select hours. The Concierge Lounge on the Disney Wish also features a sun deck, 2 whirlpools, and a wading pool reserved just for Concierge Guests. It truly is a dream come true!
Susan, Disney Cruises are popular, and I recommend making your reservation on the
Disney Cruise Line website as soon as possible, especially if you want to sail in January 2025. I hope you find the perfect itinerary for your family!
Happy sailing!
Jen
