2 adults, 1 child have 7 night reservation. One adult coming 2 days later to same room. Told adult cannot be added to reservation but to register as "Day Guest" when arriving at hotel. How can they use Magic Express without prior reservation?

Hi there Marie, and welcome to planDisney!

You must be so excited about your winter getaway to the Most Magical Place on Earth! Just as Elsa is starting to make things chilly up north, you'll be traveling to sunny Florida. You'll arrive just in time to experience the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Did you hear that resort gingerbread displays will be part of our world again this year? That's certainly something to be jolly about!

In most circumstances, you can add another Guest to your resort reservation, so long as it doesn't exceed the maximum capacity of the room. Because nearly all accommodations in Walt Disney World (except for the two-person Tower Studios at Disney's Riviera Resort) sleep at least four guests, that won't be a problem. My family will be staying at Disney's Yacht Club Resort next month, and just last week my sister decided to join us for a couple of nights. With a quick call to Disney, I was able to add her to our booking. Once she was part of our reservation, I made one more call to arrange for her Disney's Magical Express® transportation, and she was all set!

Marie, the only thing that could get tricky is if you booked a vacation package that bundles your resort room and theme park admission. In this case, all Guests staying in the same room must be included in the vacation package and purchase the same theme park tickets. Adding another adult, in this case, would also require buying an additional theme park ticket to match yours, and it doesn't sound like this adult will need as many days in the parks as you do.

If this is the situation in which you find yourself, one solution is to cancel your vacation package, rebook it as a room-only reservation, and add tickets separately as needed for each Guest. Alternatively, the extra adult could register as a "Day Guest" upon arrival but would forego the ability to use Disney's Magical Express® and need to take a taxi or rideshare from the airport to the resort.

I hope you find something that works for you and your group, Marie! Best wishes as you continue planning your vacation, and if there's anything else we can help with, don't hesitate to reach out again.
