Are adults allowed to dress similar to a Disney costume for dinners or at specialty dining like at Remy's or Palo? I'd like to wear a simple yellow dress and white gloves to resemble Princess Belle! Thanks, Michelle

Ahoy there, Michelle, and welcome back to planDisney!

If you are seeking adventure in the great wide somewhere, you will surely find it aboard the Disney Cruise Line! I'm so glad that your adventure is fast approaching! Have you downloaded the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app? Be sure to do so before departing for your vacation. You can log in to your reservation on the app and watch the seconds count down towards your cruise!

Princess Belle just happens to be my favorite Disney Princess, and dining at Palo and Remy are two of my favorite activities aboard the Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy. I'm excited for you to relax and pull up a chair as the Crew Members of the Disney Cruise Line proudly present your dinner!

There are specific guidelines outlined for wearing costumes onboard the Disney Cruise Line. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes during themed cruises (think Halloween on the High Seas, Pixar, and Marvel-themed cruises) and for onboard celebrations like Pirate Night. During these themed events, guests are allowed to dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for photographs or sign autographs. Costumes are not permitted for adults outside of these themed celebrations.

However, if you are not wearing a costume, but are simply dressing in a way that gives a slight nod to a beloved character, that is deemed to be appropriate. Think of it this way, as long as you are dressing in a way that you would not be mistaken for the Disney Character, that would be okay. And the way that you are describing a simple yellow dress with white gloves sounds like you are paying homage to the adventurous bibliophile Princess Belle, without dressing just like her.

Both Palo and Remy are adult-exclusive restaurants that are available by reservation only. To uphold the refined atmosphere in both locations, please adhere to the dress codes. As you are planning to wear a dress, I'm assuming that you are familiar with the dress requirements and that your "looks will have no parallel" as you prepare for the occasion.

Michelle, I wish you the most adventurous and delightful cruise vacation. If you'd like to find yourself with your nose stuck in a book, I highly recommend the plush lounge chairs on either the promenade deck or the adult-exclusive Quiet Cove area onboard as great places to relax and read.

Enjoy your time with the Disney Cruise Line and please visit us again at planDisney if we can be of any more assistance. Our command is your request ... Please be our Guest!

    Bon Voyage,
