    Rochelle from UT Asked

My adult disabled son is planning his first solo trip, for his birthday, next month. Tonight I found out that he's stressing about if he has a medical emergency. Would we be able to use Magical Express to get to him from the airport?

Hi, Rochelle. Welcome back to planDisney! It is great to hear from you again.

I believe what you are asking is if you could take Disney's Magical Express to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel your son would be staying at once you land at Orlando International Airport. To use Disney's Magical Express, you need to have a valid Walt Disney World Resort stay booked with your name on the reservation. If I were in your shoes in this type of emergency, I would rent a car myself ahead of time before my flight, so I would head to the car rental location and get to where I needed to go as soon as I landed in Orlando. This way, no matter where he was located, I could get to my son as quickly as possible. The flexibility of renting a vehicle would also allow you to stop at a pharmacy or anywhere else I may need to, as Disney's Magical Express would only have stops at Walt Disney World Resort hotels.  If you didn't want to go the car rental route, you could also use a rideshare service such as Lyft or Uber to get you exactly where you need to be.

Your son may be more comfortable during his visit if he knows exactly where the First Aid stations are located at each of the four Theme Parks. Whenever I have needed medical help (because I am clumsy!), the Cast Members have been nothing short of amazing and helpful.

    Have a magical day, Rochelle!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
