As an adult, with a dining plan, can I order off a children's menu in Disney world?

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ailene! It's no secret around here that I'm a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan. I love how easy and convenient it is to choose and eat great food when I'm on vacation, and there is always something for even the pickiest palates.

If you're using the Dining Plan and you'd like to use a Quick-Service or Table-Service credit to order off of the kids' menu, you're certainly able to do that. Since you'll still be charged the regular adult credit for your kids' meal, this isn't something I would do pretty often if you're trying to get the most value out of your Dining Plan, but there are definitely times when I choose to order off the children's menu because it's more appealing to me! I really love the adventurous flavors of the meals at Satu'li Canteen at Disney's Animal Kingdom, but sometimes the only thing I want is a Cheeseburger Steamed Pod, which is only available on the kids' menu, so I'll just order that instead! Depending on where you are and what you're getting, sometimes they'll be able to make a more adult portion of the food you want, so make sure to ask a Cast Member when you're ordering.

If you're inclined to order off of the kids' menu because you have a smaller appetite and don't think you'd be able to finish an entire meal, my suggestion would be to split a meal with someone else in your party. My husband and I often find that we can't finish a whole meal by ourselves, so we'll order something big like the Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler from Flame Tree Barbecue, which is available for one Quick-Service credit, and just split that between us. That way, we're able to save another credit for later in the day when we want to have something else!

I hope this answers your question, Ailene, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
