Lisa from CT Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My adult daughter is autistic and will not go back to Disney until she can see characters up close and get autographs. We usually take her every six months. Will WDW eventually get back to the up-close meets/autographs?

Your daughter must be especially fond of her favorite Disney pals, Lisa. I can’t blame her; they are incredibly loveable.

As it sounds like you know, current health and safety guidelines have brought about some changes to several Walt Disney World experiences, Character Greetings included. I, too, miss the warm hugs and high-fives (or high-fours, as the case may be) with Mickey and all his friends.

There have not been any announcements about when we can, once again, expect a more hands-on Character meet and greet experience. I can assure you, though, that you are not alone in hoping for a return to the interactions you remember from previous trips. I’m confident that Mickey is as eager as we are to get back to normal.

Do you follow the Disney Parks Blog? That is one of my favorite tools for staying updated on the timeliest announcements about Walt Disney World happenings. I encourage you to keep an eye there and on Disney’s official social media channels for any announcements.

In the meantime, Lisa, you have a whole panel of virtual friends who are happy to answer any additional questions you may have. Stop by anytime!
