Hi, I want to get my adult children theme park tickets WDW to be used down the road at an unknown date for Christmas. How do I do this?

    Hi Krista!

Welcome to planDisney!  It sounds like your children made the nice list this year with such a magical gift headed their way!  What a wonderful gift idea. . .and one that I'm sure will be much appreciated!

Krista, I suggest purchasing a Disney Gift Card instead of the tickets themselves as the best way to give this gift.  Theme park tickets vary based on the start date of the ticket and available options.  Giving a gift card gives them the most flexibility when it comes time to make their vacation plans.  Maybe one would prefer to spend their gift card visiting fewer days and adding the Park Hopper Option, while another would prefer spreading their vacation out over more days with a standard one-park-per-day ticket.  If you'd like to get an idea of ticket prices, you can find the current pricing calendar and add/remove various options right on the Walt Disney World Resort website.

They can also use their Disney Gift Card towards hotel stays and at most restaurants and retail locations at Walt Disney World Resort.  In fact, if they book a vacation package through the Disney World website, they can even use the gift card to make the down payment or additional payments toward the trip!  A vacation package not only offers the convenience of booking your hotel and tickets at the same time, but they'll also receive several Magical Extras and have the option to add a dining plan to their trip as well.  As they are planning their visit, you'll definitely want to encourage them to check out the current special offers available!

When purchasing gift cards, you'll want to confirm that they are Disney Gift Cards and are valid at Walt Disney World Resort.  Some stores also sell specific Disney+ Gift Cards, which cannot be used at the parks.  I also suggest checking some of your local retailers to see if any discounts are offered on Disney Gift Cards to help you save a few dollars!

Krista, I hope this information is helpful as you plan this wonderful holiday surprise!  If you (or your children!) have any other vacation planning questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    Happy Holidays!
