Hi Heather,
Welcome to planDisney!
Since you booked the child’s ticket through your My Disney Experience account, until you share your plans, you would be the one in charge of making the
Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane and
Individual Lightning Lane options for the child. However, if you “Share Your Plans” with another guest, they should be able to loop both you and your child into their Lightning Lane plans.
Under the “Family & Friends” tab under “My Profile” in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you’ll want to add or select the other party member’s name who also has an account. You’ll want to share your plans either by the linking code or through email and once accepted, you’ll be sharing plans. If you go back under that guest’s name, make sure “All My Plans” is selected so they can see all the reservations and tickets associated with your account.
When that individual goes into their “Tickets and Passes” section, they should see your ticket and your child’s ticket! From there, when it’s time to book a Lightning Lane, your family’s names should come up as options to add to the party for that attraction. Keep in mind that you must have a
Disney Park Pass for that specific Theme Park and purchase Disney Genie+ in advance.
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
