Ahoy, Scott! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for sailing our way with your question.
Adults are welcome in the youth activity spaces onboard during
Open House times. These times are clearly listed in the Daily Activity Schedule in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. This schedule can be accessed in the app once you are onboard the ship. Open Houses are typically held for several hours during embarkation day to give families an opportunity to explore together and for children to become comfortable in these spaces. Little ones also get a chance to meet the friendly and entertaining Crew Members who run activities and look after children in these secured spaces onboard. Open Houses are held throughout the voyage, often in the morning and again at varied times throughout the sailing. Even though my kids love to enjoy
Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab without us, we still make it a point to visit Open Houses as a family because the adults in our crew want to hang out in the interactive and uniquely themed spaces too! If you are traveling with tweens or teens, Edge and Vibe also host Open Houses, and they are worth checking out.
In my experience, my children tend to make friends early on in the cruise. They look forward to time spent in the youth clubs and don't feel alone between new friends and favorite Crew Members. I hope the same for the child in your sailing group. May you all have the chance to make wonderful memories!
Enjoy the magic of a Disney Cruise,
Adrianna
