    Mandy:

    Hello to a fellow Mississippian!

To be honest, I think you're pushing it....even with a car.

The drive from Wilderness Lodge is just a 5- to 8-minute hop, skip, and jump (especially since its general parking is so close to the hotel and my favorite of all the resorts) but once you get to the fort, you'll have to take one of its internal buses from the parking lot to the Settlement's Pioneer Hall where you'll catch the Haunted Carriage Ride.  I'd give yourself 30 minutes for this--especially since they tell you to arrive 15 minutes ahead of your ride, making dinner tight.

I usually tell folks to plan on 1 1/2 hours for table service dining at Disney, and on a recent trip, all but one meal was right on this target.  My suggestion: Call Disney dining and see if you can move that ADR up a bit--and don't just call once.  Keep trying up until the day before.  ALSO: Consider calling to see if you can get a later carriage ride for some breathing room.  If neither of these pans out, arrive 30 minutes early for your dinner reservation in hope you can be seated sooner.  From there, tell your server you need to leave no later than 7:15 and can he/she bring the bill after the entrees are served.  On top of it all, I will wish you a little pixie dust on the evening!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
