We have an 8:20ADR for WhispCanyon. The EWP is scheduled to come by @9:35. How far from dinner will we have to go to see this?Is it possible to do this meal in an hour? Any suggestions? How would you plan this? Thanks a bunch!!

    Hi Jennifer,

I think you have knee-slappin yee-haa kind of evening planned; I love the Wilderness Lodge and love Whispering Canyon!!

To get to the beach or boat dock to watch the Electric Water Parade, it is a short walk from the Whispering Canyon Cafe.  You'll need to head toward the pool (just follow the stream in the lobby).  Once you reach the end of the pool where the geyser is located, you can go to your left where the boat dock is or go to the right where the beach area is.  Both will be fine to see the parade.  If you have little ones, they may enjoy the freedom of the beach and play area (plenty of lighting, so you'll be able to keep a watchful eye on them).

If I were in your shoes, I'd try to arrive for my reservation around 8:00 pm & hope that you'd be seated a bit earlier (no guarantees, though); this way you should have some extra cushion to finish your meal by 9:25. And even if you have to sit a bit, the lobby is worth taking the time to let it all soak in, and there are Lincoln Logs for the kiddos to entertain themselves with.  We typically allow an hour for dining, so I think you should be okay.  Don't hesitate to let the staff know when you check in that you are hoping to finish to catch the EWP (but just a warning, they may share this with the rest of the guests).

Have a wonderful trip!  Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel. I'm glad to help with any further questions.  ---Kara
