I have a ADR on July 8th for Mickey Backyard BBQ. That is the same night as Fantasmic and I have heard I should not miss. I was wondering for my 7 year old darling daughter which one would be better for her to see?

    Amanda:

I would go with Mickey's Backyard BBQ for several reasons. First, you will be visiting during one of the busiest weeks of the year. There is a limited number of people seated for the BBQ, however, the number of people in line for Fantasmic will be incredible. Second, the wait for Fantasmic without the Fantasmic Dinner Package can be 2 hours long--not optimum in the heat nor with children. Even if you could land a dinner package at this late a date, I'm not a big fan of it because the seats are so far to the right.

Last few thoughts: Fantasmic has a dark side to it that can scare some children, granted probably those younger than 7. The BBQ may lose its appeal as she grows older. (My teenage daughter wouldn't be caught dead dancing with Goofy....Oh the Facebook pictures!). Save Fantasmic for a future trip and enjoy all the Mickey ice cream bars and up-close-and-personal dance fun with Mickey and the gang. Your daughter is the perfect age, so make sure and get lots of pictures!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
