Howdy, Robin! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Pull up a seat and fasten your napkin to your collar while we chat about the rootin'-tootin'-est dinner show this side of the Pecos!
The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a family favorite. On our last visit, my son was even asked to play a part in the show! The silly jokes, the fun music, the great food - we just love it.
When traveling from the Magic Kingdom Park for the show, you'll need to allow about 20 minutes of travel time on the boat to Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Once your boat docks, you're just a short walk to Pioneer Hall. You'll need a ticket to enter the show, which you can pick up at the box office 40 minutes before showtime.
Here's what I'd do. First, pick up your tickets at your Resort hotel concierge ahead of time (just don't forget to bring them with you on the day of your reservation!). I'd get to the Magic Kingdom boat dock by 4:30 or so in case you have to wait for a boat. That should get you to Fort Wilderness between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. to check in. Then you'll have time for a little exploring. The area around Pioneer Hall has a playground for little ones, but for a real treat walk around to Tri-Circle-D Ranch, home to many of the horses you see in parades and shows around the Theme Parks. Listen for the dinner bell to ring about 15 minutes before showtime, and then get ready for some knee-slappin' fun!
Also, I looked up the times for the Electrical Water Pageant for the week of your visit, and it looks like you'll have plenty of time to see it. It's scheduled to run about every 15 minutes or so starting at 9 p.m.
I hope this helps in your planning, Robin. Say hello to Six-Bits Slocum and the gang for me!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
