Have ADR at CM on 11/17/12 to celebrate my son's 6th Bday. How is a bday recognized at CM or what will they do for a bday? Contemplating on a cake, but my family is not a big cake eater. Will the bday child get a cupcake, etc...Same ? for Whisp. Can Cafe

    Hi there Felicia,

Walt Disney World is the place to be for birthdays and celebrations of all types.  When you check in to your resort, be sure to mention your son's birthday and he will receive a complimentary Birthday button which he can wear around to advertise the special occasion!

When you arrive at Chef Mickey's and Whispering Canyon, be sure to mention the birthday to the hostess at the check in podium and your little guest of honor will be treated to a special birthday treat which is usually a cupcake with a candle!  Sometimes restaurants will give a card as well!

My daughter loves spending birthdays at Disney because of all the attention she receives from the Cast Members...not to mention, a cupcake at EVERY meal...even breakfast!

It's also a good idea to call Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE prior to your arrival to have the birthday celebration noted to your reservation so the cast members are aware of it when you arrive!  You can do the same with your resort reservation by calling (407) WDISNEY.  You never know what surprises they may have up their sleeves!

    Best Wishes,

    Amand F.
