Hi. We have ADR for Chef Mickey's at 5pm. WHat time to the characters come out? Will we be too early?

    Hi Marisa!

Not at all!  Whenever the restaurant is open, the characters will be out.  In fact, 5:00 could be the most magical time of all at Chef Mickey's.  You didn't say what day you have a reservation for, so I couldn't check to see what time the restaurant opens on the day you are visiting.  However, it generally opens around 5:00 for dinner. That means you will have a chance to be the Family of the Day.  I've never seen this myself; however, good friends of the family were picked to be the Family of the Day and it sounded absolutely amazing and their pictures were incredible.

When Chef Mickey's opens for dinner, each character will be introduced.  The Family of the Day will then be seated at their table by Chef Mickey himself.  According to our friend, Mickey took her kids by the hand and lead them to the table.  Then they signed HIS autograph book (but he also signed theirs).

If you are interested in trying to be selected for the Family of the Day, I suggest you arrive early.  I recommend 4:30 for your 5:00 reservation.  Your family should look happy and enthusiastic when you check-in at the podium.  However, remember that only one family is selected and it's not necessarily the first family to arrive!  Regardless of whether your family is picked or not, Chef Mickey's is a wonderful experience.  It's a "must do" with my children, ages 5 and 10.

Good luck and have a magical vacation!
