Hi Ed,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and hello to fellow Virginian! My family had a completely wonderful stay at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for my birthday last year, and I’m thrilled to hear you’ll be visiting soon. It’s a truly beautiful and luxurious resort, filled with lovely amenities, and with an amazing location right next door to the magic.
In Disney speak, adjoining rooms are rooms that are side-by-side or across from one another. If you’re looking for rooms that are connected by an interior door, Disney calls those connecting rooms. Here’s good news: you’ll find connecting rooms in the main and outer building of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
The best way to request adjoining or connecting rooms is by calling (407) 939-1936 and adding the request to both reservations. (Pro tip: make sure that whoever calls has both reservation numbers on hand.) Cast Members will do everything they can to sprinkle pixie dust on your request, but these requests cannot be guaranteed. On a recent visit, we requested connecting rooms with my parents, and while they were not able to make that happen, our rooms were side-by-side, which worked out just fine for us.
I hope you and your daughter have a
grand time on your vacation, Ed! There are so many wonderful experiences at this resort, but my favorite so far has been
sharing afternoon tea with my daughter at the Garden View Tea Room. It’s also truly amazing to watch the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the lagoon-view areas of the resort. Enjoy every minute!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
