What is an adequate amount of time to budget between landing at the orlando airport and having a disney dining reservation in the Magic Kingdom, including transportation and hotel check in?

    Hi Mary Margaret!

Typically, I budget 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get to your Walt Disney World Resort from the Orlando International Airport using Disney's Magical Express. You may have to wait for your Magical Express bus for up to 30 minutes or walk right on a bus (typically Magical Express is very good at getting buses for people that are waiting in line).  I have had trips where Magical Express only took 1 hour but I have had some that it took around 2 hours to get to my Resort depending on the time of day, the amount of people arriving at the same time, and how many Resorts your Magical Express bus stops at before your Resort. Usually the Magical Express bus will make stops at 2 to 4 Resorts when dropping guests off at their Walt Disney World Resort.  For checking into your Resort and getting your things settled in your room, I would plan on 40 to 60 minutes.  Getting to the Magic Kingdom from your Walt Disney World Resort will typically take 20 minutes once you are on the bus and buses come approximately every 20 minutes.  So I would add another 30 to 40 minutes on to your plan.  Considering all of these things, I would recommend making your Advanced Dining Reservation about 3 1/2 to 4 hours after your plane is scheduled to land at the Orlando International Airport.

I hope that next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
