Welcome to planDisney! One of the many reasons that I love visiting Disneyland Resort is that I actually get to be in the photos with my family instead of standing (or crouching!) behind the camera. The
Disney PhotoPass photographers also know the best poses and angles to make the photos extra magical!
I am not aware of any official photo shoots being offered at Disneyland right now. Last year, I did see a PhotoPass photographer near the entrance to Frontierland offering photo excursions. They were about 10 minutes long, and there wasn't an additional fee (besides purchasing
Disney PhotoPass+ One Day or having a Magic Key that included Disney PhotoPass pictures). I didn't see it listed on the Disneyland schedule at that time, so it seemed to be a matter of lucky timing.
I suggest asking PhotoPass photographers if they are able to do a photo excursion when you see them in the parks. They may not be able to accommodate the request, but it never hurts to ask! You can usually find many PhotoPass locations in the
Disneyland app. Just tap the teardrop-shaped icon at the bottom to open the map and then scroll through the options at the top until you can select "PhotoPass."
During a trip with friends last year, we made it our mission to take as many awkward family photos as possible. I noticed that the PhotoPass photographers without long lines were often delighted to spend a little extra time with us. They loved having a fun theme to focus on, and we ended up with some great photos (and plenty of laughs!).
