I was added to my friends dining reservations. They are on the DDP and I am not. Do I have to be on the DDP or am I able to pay separately?

Hey there, Jimmy. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

How fun to be joining friends while at Walt Disney World! I can't think of anything better than sharing a great meal with great people while on vacation. I think you'll be happy to know that each Guest can pay differently at any of the Walt Disney World restaurants. Your friends will be able to use their Disney Dining Plan credits and you'll be able to pay out of pocket no problem. Just be sure to tell your server, if they don't ask you first, when you sit down how you'd like the checks divided. If you are interested in adding the Disney Dining Plan for yourself, it's not too late. You can modify an existing reservation to an upgraded vacation package if you'd like. The Disney Dining Plan can save you quite a bit of money and it's great having everything paid for ahead of time. Everytime my family and I have used the Disney Dining Plan I always feel like we've gotten quite a bit of value for it. It's nice walking into a restaurant and ordering the most expensive thing on the menu if I like and not having to worry about it. It truly keeps a person in vacation mode. You want a steak, go ahead and get one! Dessert with that, yes please! It's a fun splurgy feeling for one set cost.

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask. Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
