I have added the my Disney app to both my phone and my wife’s phone. I have logged in on both devices and have each linked our Disney tickets to each relevant wallet on our phones. Is this allowed or do we have to create individual accounts on the app?

Hey Howdy Hey Mark, welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your excellent question. I'm thrilled to assist you! Can you believe your trip to Walt Disney World Resort is almost here? You are sure to make awesome memories at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

From the very start of your vacation planning to the final day of your trip, My Disney Experience offers several features to help you make the most of your Walt Disney World vacation! During our first visit to Walt Disney World, my husband had not yet created his own My Disney Experience account so I did exactly what you did; login on both devices and we had no issues accessing his tickets and mine.

I would, however, suggest that if your wife is able to, have her create her own account then adding her to your Friends & Family list. I would then suggest connecting your account with the account your wife made on her own device. That way you will still be able to access all your plans, including Genie+ and Lightning Lane from your own account but still be able to share plans and tickets.

I find the easiest way to connect to the accounts of friends and family members is by using your Linking Code. To find your Linking Code, tap on the 3 horizontal lines on the bottom right of the My Disney Experience app. Scroll to the bottom of the screen then under Disney Account, tap “Profile.” Next, tap “Show My Linking Code.” The app will then prompt you with a warning explaining what the linking code is. Once someone scans your Linking Code, you’ll be added to their Friends & Family list. Next tap “Show My Linking Code.” The app will then create a unique linking code. There’s a QR version as well as a manual code that your friends and family can type in.

If the members of your party want to scan a linking code to connect to you (or you want to scan their linking code) - tap on the three horizontal lines to the bottom right of the My Disney Experience app. Select “Profile” and then “Friends & Family List.” You’ll then scroll down to where it says “Add a Guest.” Follow the prompts to Scan their Linking Code. You’ll scan their linking code when they have it up on their phone, or you can manually enter the code. That's It!

I hope this information helps you prepare for an exciting visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Mark! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. We'll see ya real soon!
