We have added 3-1/2 days at WDW to the end of our cruise on the Dream. We have Park Hoppers + water park passes for 4 days. Do you recommend a strategy for getting the most out of our visit to the parks? Thanks!

    Hi, Joan!

How I love a "Surf & Turf" Disney vacation -- and I think you have a great plan by visiting the parks after your Disney cruise!  Once you have arrived back at Port Canaveral, you may want to consider having a driver pick you up at the port terminal. Pack lightly (if possible) with everyone being able to roll their luggage off the ship on Debarkation Day. You can grab a quick bite at Cabanas, and be of the first off and through US Customs. (Make sure you handle all shipboard "business" such as settling your onboard account, turning in items such as Mickey Bands or borrowed extension chords, and completing customs forms.) Then, you can have your driver waiting for you around 8-8:30 a.m.

The driver can take you straight to your Walt Disney World resort to check in and store your luggage -- and they'll even put it in your room when it becomes available. Meanwhile, you can run off to enjoy the parks, and it's even more convenient if you stay close.  For instance, I love to stay at the Contemporary and walk over to the Magic Kingdom. Or, I love calling the Beach Club my home and walking over to the International Gateway of Epcot.

Once you're checked in, make sure you have a plan of action for lunch or a snack.  It will have been a while since you had breakfast, and you're going to want to hit the ground running at the parks.  Make sure you find out the hours of the parks you're visiting for those four days, and check to see if there are Extra Magic Hours to make the most of your time. Let me know if I can help you plan more!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
