Hi Ashlan!
This is a great question! It’s important to note that travel insurance can typically only be added to vacation packages booked directly through Disney and within certain time frames. It is my understanding that if you have booked a room-only reservation, and/or purchased Theme Park Tickets separately, these scenarios would not be eligible for a Travel Protection Plan.
To add travel insurance to your Walt Disney World vacation package, you’ll first want to review the
Travel Insurance options offered through the Walt Disney Travel Company. You can find details on coverage, eligibility, and pricing on the official Walt Disney World Resort travel insurance page.
Here are the steps to see if your vacation is eligible to add travel insurance to your reservation:
Log in to My Disney Experience: Start by logging into your
My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World website.
View Your Reservation: Go to “My Plans” and select the reservation you’d like to modify.
Add Travel Insurance: If eligible, you’ll see an option to add travel insurance to your package. Select this option and review the plan details to ensure it meets your needs.
Confirm & Save: Once you’ve reviewed and confirmed, save the changes to your reservation.
If you can’t tell if your specific vacation is eligible for Travel Protection and for specific questions or help with adding insurance to your unique reservation, I recommend
reaching out to the Walt Disney World Resort directly!
I hope that you and your family have the most magical vacation!
