Can I add the travel insurance? I already have a reservation and tickets in January.

Hey Howdy Hey Patricia and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for stopping by with your question about travel insurance. I will be happy to give you a little more insight on this topic and hopefully get you set for a little more peace of mind for your upcoming trip.

Travel insurance is always a big topic of conversation when it comes to planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. Many people plan their trips so far in advance and they can be significant investments that you want to make sure to protect. Disney does offer a travel insurance plan from Affinity travel which you can read more about the policy offered online.  This option is usually available to all Guests who book a vacation package with Walt Disney World Resort and can be added at any time up until the final payment 30 days before your vacation and can usually be added to your vacation online through your My Disney Experience account. Once you log in, scroll to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and look for your reservation. On the far right, you should also see a blue hyperlink to "Modify Reservation" which you will select. Look at your options and one of them should be Travel Insurance that you can edit and add to your vacation.

If you have already paid for your vacation or you are not seeing those options online, you might have to give Disney a call. You can reach out to them at (407) 934-7639 and a Cast Member will be able to help you out.

Know that you have options outside of Disney when it comes to travel insurance as well. There are many plans out there that may specifically address situations you may be concerned about, so shopping around is never a bad thing. You might also want to check with the company you have your homeowner's or car insurance with as some insurance providers also offer travel protection.

Best of luck getting this process taken care of and hopefully feeling better about your upcoming vacation. Please feel free to stop back with any further questions, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
