Hi Laura!
Welcome back to planDisney. We love to see Guests returning to our magical corner of Disney Parks planning. You are in for such a treat with a visit this week, right in the middle of the
Halloween Time festivities. From the seasonal decor, characters in their Halloween best, tasty treats, and plenty of frightfully fun photo opportunities and experiences, it is personally my favorite time of year to be at the Disneyland Resort. With so much to see and do, it's always helpful to have your tickets at the ready in the most convenient way possible. Let's dive into your question.
First things first, I know the
MagicMobile Service provides a level of convenience for our friends visiting Walt Disney World, but currently, it is not possible to add theme park tickets to an Apple Wallet for Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort. I know that was not the news you were hoping to hear, Laura! Scanning your ticket barcode directly from your phone or tapping in with a
MagicBand+ are the options for seamless entry into the parks and Lightning Lanes, if you have added Multi Pass to your ticket. Perhaps a glimmer of pixie dust to share, though, is that if you have a MagicBand+ from a Walt Disney World visit, you can use the very same one and link it to a ticket in the Disneyland App. I frequently use the same bands for both resorts.
Another perk of the system at Disneyland is that you can
reassign the same MagicBand+ to a different ticket or Guest, so there is a lot of added flexibility and value. While they can be an investment, my family has used the same bands for multiple visits to Disney World, Disneyland, and even a sailing on the Disney Wish. We have a holiday trip planned for Disney World in December, and I will be packing them once again! We have been using them for 3 years strong!
If you do decide to go with a MagicBand+, in addition to tapping into the Main Entrance Gates and Lightning Lanes, you can use it to link Disney PhotoPass Photos so you can keep all those magical memories in one place. Since you are visiting during the 70th Anniversary, you can also participate in some special
MagicBand+ activations throughout Disneyland Park. It's a bit of a scavenger hunt as you seek and find 5 different locations within the park, all with their own special activation to honor the earliest days of the Happiest Place on Earth. My planDisney pals and I set out on this quest together and had so much fun discovering these special locations!
Laura, while not the news you were hoping for, I hope this helps you feel ready to step into the magic. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney.
Wishing you a smooth and seamless visit, filled with pixie dust and unforgettable memories.
Magic awaits!
