Hiya, Carrie!
Welcome back to planDisney! I am delighted that you continue to stop by with your Walt Disney World Resort planning questions.
You can add park tickets to an existing Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation through two different methods. The first would be to
purchase the theme park tickets of your choice on the
Walt Disney World website or by phone through the
New Tickets line. Once you purchase your tickets you can
link them to your
My Disney Experience account. Linking them only takes a few minutes on the website. Just select the My Plans option from the My Disney Experience down-down menu on the website. Then choose the Tickets & Memory Maker link to get started. Your tickets will be ready to use in just a few steps. This is a great option if you do not want to make any changes to your existing reservation.
If you would like to turn your current hotel reservation into a vacation package, you can do so by speaking to a friendly Cast Member with
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. You can also complete this process online, but it does require a few extra steps. The online steps would include booking a new Walt Disney World vacation package and then canceling the current room-only reservation. The primary advantage of a vacation package is that it includes Magical Extras like tickets to miniature golf and to the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. There are also select food and merchandise discounts available. I recommend
reviewing the Magical Extras to see if they are something your travel party will enjoy using during your stay. If not, my recommendation would be to purchase and link your tickets online, as no package is necessary.
After you purchase your tickets, be sure to make your
Disney Park Pass reservations. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. Be sure to check the
reservation availability calendar to see if the parks that you wish to visit have reservations available before completing your purchase.
I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
We'll see ya real soon!
Tammy
