Hiya Lindsay!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sending us this magical question! I absolutely love staying at the Disney Resort hotels on my Disney trips, as they allow you to truly stay in the magic even after you leave the theme parks. Plus, their amenities, restaurants and complimentary transportation systems are things I now could not live without on my trips! Those buses sure are nice at the end of a long park day.
While you can make some upgrades to your existing reservation through your
My Disney Experience account, you most likely will have to make a separate booking for another room. In this case, I would highly recommend
calling the Reservation Center, as they will be able to help and make sure your reservations are properly linked. Plus, if you would like the rooms to be close to each other, you can also make that request over the phone with a Disney Cast Member. Otherwise, if you want to change your Resort or add more Guests, you can click on the "My Plans" section of the My Disney Experience tab and then "Change Reservation" next to your Resort Reservation.
Now, Lindsey, did you know that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at an especially magical time? Indeed, Walt Disney World Resort likes to celebrate the holiday season early, and you will be able to experience so many unique offerings at that time of year. Indeed, all theme parks get decked out with festive decorations, and some have extra magical offerings like Magic Kingdom Park's
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or EPCOT's
International Festival of the Holidays. However, the festive fun again does not stop at the theme parks. All Disney Resort hotels also get huge Christmas trees decorated according to their theme, and some even have incredible
gingerbread displays! My favourite is always the one at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, as it is all made of gingerbread, and you can even buy gingerbread and other Christmas treats there too!
I hope this was helpful, Lindsey, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach back out! It is always a pleasure to ring in the season with you.
Have a happy, merry, holly, jolly day!
Ariane
