Hi there, Sharon!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. It looks like you are heading to the Happiest Place on Earth during the
merriest time of the year - you are going to love being in the parks for the holidays! With so much magic waiting for you, I can understand wanting to get all of your park planning logistics in place. Let's take a look at your question!
It sounds like you may have visited Walt Disney World and are familiar with building a Friends and Family List within the My Disney Experience App. While there are many similarities between Disneyland and Walt Disney World, the functionality within the apps differs slightly.
Disneyland does not offer a Friends and Family list feature, but you can link the theme park tickets of other members of your party to your account so that you can book
Lightning Lanes together and your attraction plans show up in both of your itineraries. If you are specifically looking to add other profiles to a
dining reservation, currently, the Disneyland app does not have this feature. A dining reservation will only appear in plans for the Guest who made the reservation. Some of my planDisney pals and I use a workaround and just create a shared calendar alert on our smartphones to let everyone know when it's time to head to the restaurant. Not as magical, I know, but it does the trick!
If you are looking to add profiles to your account so that you can book Lightning Lanes together, I'm happy to walk you through that process. In the app itself, head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner and tap "My Tickets & Passes". Within here, you will see any theme park tickets currently linked to your account. To
link additional Guests, tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner and select "Link Tickets & Passes". Here, you can either tap your friend's MagicBand+, scan the barcode of their ticket directly from their phone, or manually enter their ticket ID number. Personally, I think it's easiest to just scan the barcode once you are all physically in the same space. Just take a few minutes upon arrival to scan each other's tickets so that you are all linked. This will allow the maximum flexibility with planning, so you can enjoy attractions together or split off into smaller groups depending on everyone's priorities.
Sharon, I hope this has been helpful! While you are putting the finishing touches on your planning, check out the
Entertainment Schedule for both Disneyland and California Adventure to earmark any must-see shows, parades, or live music! There is so much holly jolly in the parks right now that you'll want to take a peek at all of the options ahead of time.
A Christmas Fantasy Parade always makes my must-do list - hard to pass up a wave to Santa this season! If you have any more questions ahead of your trip, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
Tara
