Hiya Debbie,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited that you are planning a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth on May the 4th. As a Star Wars fan, I’ve long had a visit to Hollywood Studios at the top of my must-do list. I cannot resist Star Wars
merchandise, so for a visit to Walt Disney World Resort on this day, I would need more than one
Disney Gift Card!
Speaking of Disney Gift Cards, I love the idea of linking them to your Apple Wallet. Disney Gift Cards can be used almost everywhere at Walt Disney World Resort, including dining locations, kiosks, and merchandise locations. On rare occasions, a Disney Gift Card is not accepted as payment at Walt Disney World, but this typically occurs only when the location is not owned or operated by Walt Disney World Resort. Unfortunately, you cannot link a physical Disney Gift Card to your Apple Wallet at this time. Only e-Gift cards can be linked to Apple Wallets. One of my fellow panelists, Al, told me about a workaround for this that I would love to share with you. Since you can combine the balance from a physical Disney Gift Card with an e-Gift Card (on the Disney Gift Card website), you could purchase an
e-Gift Card in any denomination from the Disney Store or directly from the Disney Gift Card website and transfer the balance of your physical Gift Card onto it (up to $1,000 can be on one card). Then you can add the e-Gift card to your Apple Wallet (in the email with the e-Gift card details, you will see an option to “Add to Apple Wallet”).
I hope this was helpful, Debbie. Before I let you go, even if you decide not to purchase an additional e-Gift Card, I still recommend adding your Disney Gift Cards to the Disney Gift Card website. You can keep track of your balance, and if you misplace your Gift Cards, you can transfer your remaining balance to a new card. I hope you have the very best time on your vacation. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
