Greetings, Melissa!
Welcome aboard! I'm so glad you visited us here at planDisney, and I'm happy to share more about staterooms and adding guests to an existing reservation on
Disney Cruise Line.
There are two things that must be true for you to add another passenger to a current Disney Cruise Line reservation. First, your stateroom must be able to accommodate another person. So if you book a room that can fit four passengers and you only have two people then you're halfway there!
The second condition is that the ship cannot have reached capacity. The maximum number of passengers on a ship isn't the same as every room being filled completely, so it's possible that a sailing could be sold out even if you only have two people in a four-person stateroom.
It isn't possible for guests to see if sailings are at capacity online, so you'll need to
call and speak with a Cast Member to ask about adding an extra person to your reservation. If there's space on the ship and in your stateroom then they'll help get your reservation adjusted and you'll be ready to set sail!
The Disney Cruise Line ships are incredibly gorgeous, and the staterooms are so well-designed! We have sailed many times with two adults and two children in one room and had plenty of space for everyone. When you're choosing a room I definitely recommend taking some time to explore the
deck plans of the ship you're considering, so you can choose a room that suits your cruising style.
I hope this information helps you to find a magical adventure on the not-too-distant horizon, Melissa! Please visit us again if we can help you navigate your cruise planning!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
