Hiya friend! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
Your teen is going to have the best time with their school visiting Disneyland Resort. I'm sure it's a day they'll never forget. And of course, you want to make sure they have everything they need from a refillable water bottle to a method of payment for snacks or whatever else catches their eye. Teen MyDisney accounts on the
Disneyland mobile app have most of the same functionality as an adult account, including the ability to link a ticket, check wait times, and link Disney's PhotoPass Service photos. However, teens can't save a credit or debit card to their account the same way adults can. I'm sorry if that's not the news you were hoping for, but I do have a quick solution for you and your teen. This has worked with our bonus teen, whom we often travel with, so I know it will work for you.
Whatever spending limit you want for your teen, purchase a
Disney Gift Card by e-mail in that amount. You'll receive a card with a number via e-mail, which your teen can then use to pay for purchases in the app, such as mobile ordering food, beverages, and merchandise. The card can't be saved as a method of payment in the app, but if you save the number in the Notes app on the mobile device your teen uses, they can easily copy and paste it into the Disneyland mobile app during the transaction. We recently visited with a couple of Disney Gift Cards and that's how we managed their use throughout our visit.
Disney Gift Cards don't expire and currently can be used to purchase admission tickets, book Disneyland Resort Hotel stays, buy the latest cute merchandise on
shopDisney, and more. So, if there's an amount left over on the card at the end of the night, you'll be able to use it in the future.
I hope this helps!
