Can you add Park Hopper Option to a Disneyland 2-day ticket several days after initial purchase? I do NOT want to upgrade at the park. I also don’t want it for north days—- just one day (starting at DCA, and hopping to DLP)

    Hi Gurpreet,

Welcome to planDisney. I'd be happy to help a fellow North Carolinian plan a trip to Disneyland Resort. Your upcoming summer vacation is already set to be magical with the Disney100 Celebration in full swing! Let's see what we can do to make sure you are prepped and ready to soak up all the excitement.

You should be able to upgrade your tickets via phone prior to your arrival, as long as the ticket is unused and the upgrade is of equal or greater value. However, there is no option to upgrade only certain days of your multi-day ticket. Should you decide to upgrade, the Park Hopper option would be applied to both ticketed days. You certainly aren't required to hop on both days though, so follow the itinerary that works best for you.

When my family visits we usually start our morning at either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park and spend the majority of our day there enjoying the variety of attractions and entertainment available. We like to hop over to the other park toward the late afternoon or evening when we are ready for a change of scenery.

Regardless of where we begin our day we always keep an eye on the wait times and will hop between both parks if one of our favorite attractions is calling out to us. I find Park Hoppers to be especially valuable when we purchase Disney Genie+, as you can only access Lightning Lane entries for each included attraction once per day using the service. We will sometimes rope drop an attraction that normally has a longer wait, secure a return window for it using Genie+ and then head to the other park. If time allows, we'll hop back in the standby line at the end of the day at our first park for one more thrill on our favorite attraction. Park Hopping can give you more flexibility and more opportunities to experience your favorite attractions on multiple days with some quick planning and strategy.

Please reach back out to us if you need help planning your perfect park day or have any additional questions. We'd be happy to make sure your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is practically perfect in every way!

    Wishing you magic and memories,
    Amy
