Can I add park hoper plus ticket after purchase?

Hey there, Matt. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

I am excited to know that you are considering park hopping during your next Walt Disney World vacation. It's actually my preferred park touring style. I love spending the early mornings at Magic Kingdom Park, riding some of my favorite attractions with little to no wait time. Then, around lunchtime, when the parks are starting to get more crowded I typically head back to my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for an afternoon swim. Once I've had my fill of fun in the Florida sun, you can usually find me spending the evenings in Epcot enjoy snacks and drinks around The World Showcase. It's a perfect Disney day.

Matt, I think you will be happy to know that you can upgrade your standard theme park tickets to those that include the park hopper option. To get the maximum usage of this upgrade, I suggest doing it before you use the theme park tickets that you have already purchased. You can actually upgrade those tickets at any time during your vacation but you will be charged for the length of your ticket and not how many days you have left on your vacation. So upgrade those tickets before the first usage to be able to park hop the entire time you are at Walt Disney World. You can upgrade your theme park tickets by calling the existing ticket help hotline at (407) 566-4985. You can also upgrade those tickets once you've arrived at Walt Disney World by stopping by your Walt Disney World Resort's concierge desk, visiting Guest Relations throughout to Walt Disney World Theme Parks or any of the theme park ticket windows at the entrance of each park.

Like I said before, I am so glad that park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World. But it does look a little bit different at this time. Here's how park hopping is currently working:
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests wishing to park hop must make park pass reservation for each day they are wishing to visit any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and park hop
    • Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before park hopping
    • Park hopping hours are currently from 2:00 p.m. until the parks close each day
    • Park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time
To make park hopping a little bit easier on Guests, Disney is currently providing complimentary park-to-park transportation starting around 2:00 p.m. each day. To use this service just head out to the bus stop at the Walt Disney World Theme Park you are currently at. There will be a Cast Member working the bus stop that will need to verify that you do, indeed, have the park hopper ticket by a quick scan of your MagicBand. Once verified you'll be able to board the bus to your next destination. If the theme park you are wanting to hop to is not accepting new Guests due to capacity limitations at that time, that same Cast Member will be able to alert you and you can alter your plans from there. I've been back to park hopping for a little over two months now and I haven't run into this issue but I did want to mention it to you just in case.

Matt, I hope this helps point you in the right directions. If you have other questions, I'm happy to help. Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
