Hello, Leticia!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by with your question about the
Disneyland Resort. Have you thought about planning a summertime visit?
Pixar Fest is in full swing and bringing so much limited-time magic to both theme parks!
It sounds like you were one of the lucky ones able to participate in a program called Disney’s “Walk of Magical Memories," which allowed Guests to purchase a 10-year brick "sponsorship” to become a part of Disneyland history. This program was discontinued in 2011 and plans to reinstate it or allow Guests to make updates to existing bricks haven’t been mentioned. The great news is that most of these hexagon-shaped paving stones, many of which feature families’ names and important dates, still remain in place for everyone to view in the Esplanade between
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park.
I know it might be disappointing that you can’t make changes to your brick, such as adding the name of a child born after it was purchased, for example. I certainly hope a similar opportunity comes up again since I missed the chance to purchase one originally! However, I like to think of the special installation as a sort of commemorative time capsule for Guests.
Be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest announcements about new projects and events on deck for the Disneyland Resort, Leticia. We may get another unique opportunity to leave our mark on the Happiest Place on Earth someday! Please feel free to
visit again with any other questions you have. We’d be thrilled to help you plan your next pixie-dusted vacation.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
