Hi Teri, welcome to planDisney!
Experiencing Walt Disney World Resort with an infant is a truly magical experience. My daughter was four months old on her first visit. We frequented the
Baby Care Centers located at each theme park and
Disney PhotoPass photographers helped us capture some magical moments in front of
Cinderella Castle. She also slept a lot, which allowed mom and dad to enjoy some delicious meals like the spaghetti and meatballs at
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
When making an
advance dining reservation, you are correct that all members of your party must be included. This allows the restaurant to ensure they have enough space to comfortably accommodate everyone, even though there is no charge for the infant. When making a dining reservation, simply select a party size that includes the infant. The reservation will be connected to and managed by the person making the reservation, as they'll need to sign into their
My Disney Experience account to make the reservation. During the online reservation process, you can connect the other members of your dining party to individuals on your
Family and Friends list in My Disney Experience. This allows them to see the reservation on their plans in My Disney Experience. Alternately, you can keep each member of your dining party as a generic "Guest." As a third option, you can click "Add a Guest" and enter the name and age of your child ("Infant").
If you've already made a dining reservation that does not include your infant, Teri, Hakuna Matata. On the
mobile check-in feature of the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can add up to one additional Guest to your reservation. When it's time to check-in for your reservation, respond to the push notification asking you to check-in via the app or scan the QR code located by the restaurant's entrance or lobby. You'll be asked to select your party mix specifying how many adults, children ages 3-9, and infants. This is the step where you'll add your infant if they weren't on the original reservation. You can also request high chairs and booster seats during mobile check-in. Strollers are not permitted inside most restaurants, but you can ask a Cast Member if there are any infant slings available.
Enjoy this special time, Teri. Before you know it, your baby will be a thrill seeker requesting
Space Mountain again, and again, and again. I sure do miss those calm moments in the Baby Care Centers, haha!
Plan magic; planDisney.
