    Can I add money from a gift card to my magic band? We staying at the Swan and it's not officially a Disney hotel. We have a ton of gift cards I'd like to consolidate. any info would be great!

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We are happy to answer your first question!

    I just love all the functionalities that MagicBands offer, but unfortunately you cannot transfer funds from Disney Gift Cards to MagicBands. In addition, only Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can use their MagicBand as a method of payment throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. The Guest’s valid credit card informed at check-in will be charged for all purchases made with the MagicBand upon check-out. This is one of the many benefits offered to Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels.

    I have recently visited and used my MagicBand to pay for everything. It was so nice not having to worry about carrying my wallet everywhere. I also had three Disney Gift Cards so the night before check-out I stopped by Front Desk to pay for my expenses using these cards.

    Since you are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can still use your valid Disney Gift Cards as a method of paying throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have many different cards, I suggest registering all of them online and transferring the balances to one or two cards. This way you don’t have to bring many cards with you for your visit.
