Welcome to planDisney, Rebecca!
It’s so nice to hear from you, and I’m more than happy to help answer your question. First, let me take this moment to celebrate with you, “Yay! You’re going to Walt Disney World!”. There’s truly nothing better than sitting down and planning a Disney vacation. My kids would say, arriving is better, but they also love sitting down and planning out our days. My daughter’s favorite part is the packing part. Selecting which outfit she’s going to wear to each park is something she looks forward to on each trip. I give her a few more years, and then I guarantee she’ll be asking to “Disney Bound”.
If you are staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel, I recommend
calling the Walt Disney Resort Reservation line to add on a Dining Plan. A Cast Member there will be able to see how your reservation is booked, and can tell you if adding on a
Dining Plan is an option. Last year, we had to modify our resort reservation to a vacation package before we could add on our dining plan. We had booked our stay at Pop Century and added the Disney Dining Plan to the package by calling. We did let the Cast Member know that we’d be purchasing the
Military Salute Promotional tickets from our military ticketing office for our visit as well. I’m not sure if they made notes on their end, but explaining why we didn’t have tickets already bundled made sense to them. They were able to fix our reservation so that we could enjoy the dining plan, which is my husband’s favorite part of a Disney Vacation.
Rebecca, if your party includes little ones, and depending on when you’ll be visiting, check out the
FREE Dining Plan offer for kids. I’m getting ready to add this offer to our upcoming March 2026 visit. I’m also hoping to see the Military Promotional offer renew so that we can use those tickets then, too. Either way, it’s just easier for us to budget knowing that our resort and food are covered under our vacation package, since I’m currently making payments towards that now.
I hope my experience has helped answer your question. Enjoy everything Walt Disney World has to offer. And if you have any other questions or need dining recommendations, I’m always happy
to help!
See ya real soon,
Shantel
