Hey Howdy Hey Tammy and welcome to planDisney fellow Buckeye!
One thing I always recommend for anyone traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort is
Travel Insurance. Vacations can be planned so far in advance with great intentions until things happen we were not expecting. Travel insurance is a great way to protect your vacation in case something unexpected comes up.
Tammy, as you mentioned, Travel Insurance is offered when booking a trip to Walt Disney World with vacation packages. As you move through the steps of booking your resort and Theme Park Tickets, your next options typically are extras such as Memory Maker and Travel Insurance. You do not have to add either at the time you make your initial deposit and can decline them. You can add insurance to your package up until your final payment is due 30 days before your date of arrival. You should be able to add insurance through your
My Disney Experience account.
Once you log into your account, look for your reservation under the main screen with "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets". To the right of your reservation, you should see an option to "Modify Reservation" which you will click on. You should be given a general overview of what you have booked and the option to modify. Look to find the travel insurance section so you can add it to your vacation. You can also
call Disney and ask about adding the insurance to your vacation which a Cast Member will be more than happy to help you do so.
Either way, you should be able to add travel insurance to your vacation before your final payment easily. If you have any further questions please let us know, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
