Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family often visits Walt Disney World with grandparents, aunts, and uncles; a magical vacation as one big happy family is simply wonderful!
The rooms at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort accommodate up to four Guests, plus one child under age 3 in a crib. If your group is six adults and two children, you will need to stay in at least two standard rooms at that resort. When I’m booking a Walt Disney World Resort room for a larger group, I always call (407) 939-1936 to speak to a Cast Member. Okay, that’s partially because I love listening to the Disney hold music and the Tinkerbell pixie dust chime, but it’s also because the Cast Members on the phone can help me figure out the best setup for my group and quote prices specific to my dates.
You can also search online using the
Resorts page. You can filter your search by dates and number of Guests, and then see what is available. You may even be able to
modify your reservation using My Disney Experience once you have a sense of what will work for your group.
Lisa, when we’ve traveled as a group of nine, my family has enjoyed the 2-bedroom Deluxe Villas at Walt Disney World. These are great because they have a nice central living room area and kitchen, which is so nice to hang out in when taking a break from the theme parks, and you can prepare meals in your villa. I’ve always wanted to check out the Treehouse Villas at
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which feature lots of living space in a super-cool treehouse setting.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
