I want to add my grandson to our room reservations he already has park tickets. It is defaulting to 2 tickets.

Hi Brian! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! It's great to hear that your grandson will be joining you for your upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! I'm sure he is looking forward to all the magical memories that you are bound to make!

When adding a Guest to a Disney Resorts Hotel room reservation, if this reservation was booked as part of a vacation package (which includes park tickets and a Disney Resort room), then the new Guest will be required to have an identical package to everyone in that room. If every Guest staying in this room has 2-day park tickets, then your grandson will need to as well, even if he already has park tickets purchased. The only way to add him to your existing reservation is if you originally booked a room-only reservation and purchased your park tickets separately. This does not seem like the case since it is not providing you with that option when modifying, but you can always call the Walt Disney World Resort and speak to a Cast Member for additional assistance.

Depending on how far out your trip is booked, you may have a few options to add him. You can potentially cancel your existing vacation package and book a room-only reservation with your grandson included. Then, you'll need to purchase park tickets for everyone else staying in the room. The only caveat is you will need to pay for the park tickets in full at the time of purchase. They will also be nonrefundable and nontransferable in the case you need to cancel your trip altogether. Your grandson will then be able to use the tickets he already has without purchasing new ones.

The other option is to just include him on your current reservation and purchase new tickets for him. If he plans to visit again in the future, he can use the value from his existing tickets toward the purchase of new tickets. While the tickets may expire, they will never lose the original value that they were purchased for.

Brian, I hope this information helps you when modifying your plans! Stop back anytime to planDisney with your planning questions!

    See ya real soon!
