Welcome back to planDisney! I am sorry that you are experiencing difficulties adding Genie+ services to your April trip. Sometimes Genie gets a little stubborn and needs a little nudge to leave his lamp.
Before we begin, just as a reminder, when you purchase
Genie+ services before a trip, it is all or nothing (you must buy it for the entire trip). If you want to purchase Genie+ for one day, you will be unable to do so until midnight before your Theme park day.
Now, let’s see if we can work some magic! You mentioned that you have already tried using the
My Disney Experience account online but have you tried using the mobile app? First, double-check that your Theme Park tickets are linked to your My Disney Experience account. If your tickets aren’t linked, Genie has difficulty granting your wishes. Also, make sure that everyone in your group is on your
Family and Friends list. This will allow you to add on Genie+ services for the entire group. Once you have verified that follow these steps to add Genie+ through the
My Disney Experience mobile app:
-Click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the app.
-Click the tile marked “Tickets and Passes.”
-Find the ticket you would like to add on Genie+ and select “Change Ticket.”
If that doesn’t work, Genie might need a little more encouragement to leave his lamp. Another alternative is to add on Genie+ services at midnight before your trip using the following steps and the mobile app.
-Click the three horizontal lines in the bottom corner of the app.
-Select the “My Genie Day” tile.
-Scroll down to the ticket and select “Get Disney Genie+ for Today.”
