Can you add Genie+ to a ticket that has already been purchased? If so, where do you go to purchase Genie+?

    Greetings, Emily.

Welcome to planDisney! With only a few weeks to go, I bet you're more than a little excited your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the riverbend. Before you know it, you'll be standing right in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A with a churro in hand gazing upon Cinderella Castle. I can't wait for you to experience the 50th Anniversary Celebration fun! Plus, you'll be here right in time to catch the end of my favorite yearly event, the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.

I'm excited to hear you're thinking of utilizing Disney Genie+ service on your upcoming vacation. I've used it myself a few times since its launch and felt like it was beneficial to have each time. In fact, I just used it again today in Magic Kingdom Park and was able to redeem seven Lightning Lane selections throughout the day! My husband and I had the BEST day!

You can purchase Disney Genie+ service either on a day-to-day basis or for the entirety of your vacation package or length of stay in your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. To add Disney Genie+ service onto existing tickets or vacation packages for the length of your ticket, access your My Disney Experience account from a browser. Go to the My Plans section and select "Change Ticket" next to the ticket you wish to modify under Tickets & Memory Maker. You can then add Disney Genie+ service to your ticket. If you need any assistance making this modification to your existing ticket or vacation package, the friendly Cast Members over at Guest Services would be happy to wave their magic wands to make it happen. You can contact them at 407-939-5277.

If, instead, you wish to purchase Disney Genie+ service one day at a time, you would need to go to "My Genie Day" in your My Disney Experience App. Click where it says "Get Disney Genie+ for today. Follow the prompts until you receive confirmation that you've purchased it for the day. Remember, in this scenario, you can purchase Disney Genie+ service starting at 12:00 a.m. midnight on the day you wish to use it. I highly recommend you purchase it by 6:00 a.m. at the latest to allow time for technical hiccups before Lightning Lane selections go live at 7:00 a.m.

In both scenarios, you will be able to make your first Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane selection at 7:00 a.m. on the day of use via the Tip Board in your My Disney Experience App. I suggest you are ready to do this at 7:00 a.m. on the dot, as some selections sell out quickly. You can continue making Lightning Lane selections every two hours or after you've redeemed the one you previously booked, whichever comes first.

I hope this helps, Emily. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to stop back by planDisney. We'd be happy to help.

    Happy planning,
    Alyssa
